Temperature Monitoring/Control During Ablation
Fast and accurate temperature monitoring of cancer tumor and neighboring normal tissues is necessary for precise and effective ablation treatment. Most of the ablation technologies like Laser, Radiofrequency, Microwave, Cryoablation, HIFU require NMR proof sensors. Smaller size and NMR immunity of fiber optic temperature sensors make them the default choice for ablation applications. The sensors are being used at the design and testing phases of various ablation machines. The oncology research scientists and doctors use these sensors in various in-vivo and in-vitro studies in ablations.

Temperature Monitoring in MRI Applications
Temperature Monitoring in MRI ApplicationsRugged Monitoring’s fiber optic temperature sensors are immune to high magnetic field and provide faster and accurate temperature measurement under magnetic field. The sensors are widely being used by the advance MRI machine and coil manufacturers during design improvement and testing. These sensors are also being used in monitoring temperature of superconductor and particle accelerators. The Fiber Optic temperature sensors are also being used in MRI applications such as MRI scanning of special category patients, baby incubators, MRI guided surgery and research.

Temperature Testing of Medical Implantable
Every medical implantable device must be designed for safer MRI scanning. The device must not heat up under the MRI scanning because the patients may need MRI scanning with the medical implant in their body.  Rugged Monitoring’s Fiber Optic temperature sensors are used in testing the temperature of medical implants under MRI scanning during their design and manufacturing process. Our NIST and ISO17025 certified temperature testing systems are widely accepted by all major manufacturers and testing laboratories.

Temperature Monitoring during Catheterization
Temperature monitoring during electrosurgery and catheterization helps in improving the surgery and avoiding collateral damages. Rugged monitoring’s fiber optic temperature sensors are smaller in size, NMR/RF immune, accurate, and fast responsive. The sensor can easily be fitted into the catheter for temperature monitoring during various surgeries, treatments, and research studies. Fiber optic temperature sensor fitted catheters are being used in various application such as urine drainage, vesical, ablation, central venous etc.

Magnetic Nano-Particle Hyperthermia Research
Targeted therapeutic heating of tumors using magnetic nanoparticles (MNP) and alternating magnetic field (AMF) has proved to be promising steps towards safe and effective cancer treatment. Fiber optic Temperature sensors have been widely used in the research of magnetic nanoparticles and during the hyperthermia clinical trials (in-vitro and in-vivo). Fiber optic temperature sensors do not have risk of self-heating under magnetic field and are immune to the interferences due to Microwave / Radio Frequencies.
